"Starting with cold tapas, we nibbled huge prawns, juicy chorizo and ham, seafood and Russian salad, then we received an array of hot tapas dishes which seemed to just keep coming………Mmmmmm!” Martin James - Food Writer
The term Tapas in Spanish means a lid, cover or cap - and is believed to have come from the old Andalusian custom of presenting a glass of wine or sherry covered with a slice of ham or sausage as an appetiser. As it became an established tradition, so the range of items offered grew, and today it has become one of the most popular ways to eat.
